The Mallinckrodt Foundation supports early stage investigators engaged in biomedical research that has the potential to significantly advance the understanding, diagnosis, or treatment of disease. This grant program provides three years of support to investigators who are in the first to fourth year of a tenure-track position. While the Mallinckrodt eligibility guidelines state that applicants should be those appointed within four years of August 1, 2018, the foundation has indicated that there is flexibility to the exact dates of appointment and candidates with earlier appointments, i.e. July 1, 2014, would be eligible. Support is intended to move the project forward to the point where R01 or other independent funding can be obtained. Applicants with current R01 funding are not eligible to apply.
