Grid Accelerator Pre-proposals Deadline
Date and Time
Information sessions are being held in Allston on Sept 19 (4-5:30 pm in SEC 2.203) and Cambridge on Sept 20 (4-5:30 pm in Pierce 213).
We are pleased to share the announcement for the call for pre-proposals for the 2024 Grid Accelerator award cycle. The Grid Accelerator's purpose is to advance faculty-led early-stage research projects towards promising commercial potential through start-up formation, licensing opportunities, and industrial funding to support continued development.
The Harvard Grid is a joint program of the Office and Technology Development and the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. The Grid Accelerator is a university-wide program, with proposals coming from science-based disciplines in both SEAS and FAS. Projects are welcomed in any area of physical sciences, including (but not limited to) computer science, physics, materials science, engineering, environmental science, and chemistry.
The first deadline is Friday, November 3rd, when pre-proposals are due by 6pm. Pre-proposals should be sent to Alan Gordon at OTD with the subject line “[Faculty Name] – 2023 Grid Accelerator Pre-proposal”. The attached file should include the faculty name in the filename. If you have any questions, please speak with the business development director in OTD that works with you, or contact Alan Gordon or Paul Hayre.
Final project selection will be made based on evaluation by an independent Advisory Committee comprising both faculty and thought leaders from industry. Each Accelerator award is up to $100,000, and the funding is not subject to Harvard indirect expense charges.
Faculty and interested PhD students and postdocs are invited to attend one of the following Grid Accelerator information sessions:
