Science Research Public Lecture Series presents Professor Susan E. Mango, Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Harvard UniversityCome Back to College: From Life Sciences 1a -  “Cells, membranes, cholesterol and temperature control”This seminar is a lecture from Life Sciences 1a, a course taken by approximately 500 freshmen each year as an introduction to chemistry and biology. The course covers the fundamentals of chemistry and their application to biology, ranging from the structure of DNA to the molecular biology of cancer, HIV and drugs. In this lecture, we’ll discuss membranes, which enclose cells, and their ability to adapt to different environments – in part, through the use of cholesterol.
