Award Amount: $70,000 (CAD) per year for two years
Target applicants: Postdoctoral fellows. Candidates to be hosted by Harvard must be Canadian Citizens or permanent residents of Canada.
Eligible disciplines: Health research, natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, humanities
The objective of the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Program is to attract and retain top-tier postdoctoral talent, both nationally and internationally, to develop their leadership potential and to position them for success as research leaders of tomorrow, positively contributing to Canada’s economic, social and research-based growth through a research-intensive career. Candidates to be hosted at Harvard must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada and must fulfill or have fulfilled all degree requirements for a PhD, PhD-equivalent or health professional degree from a Canadian university between October 23, 2010 and December 31, 2013. Candidates to be hosted by Canadian institutions need not be Canadian citizens.
This is not a limited submission opportunity, but applications require an Institutional Synergy and Endorsement letter to be signed the host institution’s president (equivalent or designate) on institutional letterhead. FAS Research Development will assist applicants to be hosted within FAS departments in obtaining this endorsement, and can provide a template for host supervisors to utilize in drafting this letter. Requests from within FAS departments for signature on institutional endorsement letters may be directed to Erin Cromack at cromack@fas.harvard.edu and must be made by September 23, 2013 by 12PM.
