The award is intended to provide assured support, during their earlier years, for junior members of the faculty as they establish their laboratories. Strong proposals will demonstrate particularly innovative approaches.  The awarded funds may be used at the discretion of the Pew scholar for personnel, equipment, supplies, or travel directly related to the scholar's research and as to best advance his or her research and career.</p><p> </p>
