Funding Opportunities for Mid-Career and Senior Investigators

Dr. Wilson Francisco, Program Director for the NSF Molecular Biophysics Program, will provide an overview of available funding mechanisms in the Division of Molecular and Cellular Biosciences (MCB) and will include a discussion of cross-disciplinary and special interest programs and other funding announcements, such as Dear Colleague Letters. Dr. Francisco will also discuss strategies for developing effective Broader Impacts plans. The program will be targeted toward mid-career and senior faculty, but all faculty are welcome to attend. Registration is required.
Dr. Francisco will also be available for individual meetings with faculty following the program. Harvard faculty interested in arranging a 20-minute meeting with Dr. Francisco should email Erin Hale at erin_hale@fas.harvard.edu. Please include times when you are available in the email. If your research falls within another area of MCB or BIO and you would like to arrange a meeting with a program director from another program, we are happy to arrange meetings in those areas as well.
Bio:
Wilson Francisco has been a program director in the Division of Molecular and Cellular Biosciences in the Directorate for Biological Sciences at the National Science Foundation since 2015. He is one of the managing program directors of the Molecular Biophysics program. He works closely with other programs at NSF, including the Physics of Living Systems in PHY and the Chemistry of Life Processes in CHE. Before joining NSF, he was a faculty member in the School of Molecular Sciences at Arizona State University.
