Twice a year, a selection committee of faculty members from multiple disciplines will choose projects (up to a maximum of five annually) for awards ranging in size from $20,000 to $200,000. High-risk, high-impact projects with an interdisciplinary focus are sought, and joint submissions by researchers from the FAS and other parts of the University are welcome. Award recipients will present and discuss their projects with a range of scholars in multiple disciplines at a Challenge event in April 2014, prior to receipt of funding.</p>
