Larger awards (historic maximum of $960,000) are possible with sufficient justification. The ceiling for an application is $1,000,000 over five years.</strong></p><p>	The Department of Energy (DOE) Early Career Research Program supports the development of the individual research programs of outstanding scientists early in their careers and stimulates research careers in the disciplines supported by the DOE Office of Science. If a principal investigator has multiple doctorates, the discipline of the one earned within the eligibility window should be relevant to the proposed research.</p>
