DESCRIPTION:<p>	<strong><a href="https://harvard.communityforce.com/Funds/FundDetails.aspx?496F49596D593768464E3537506B6F754D5442315A7A596175314A592F4B756872676443706E49304B704139514F52734F38794449433535686E4439486F6E684534674D662B50446267383D" target="_blank" title="">NSF Advancing Informal STEM Learning (AISL)</a><br>Harvard Pre-Proposal Deadline: September 16, 2019 by 12:00 PM<br>Sponsor Deadline (if nominated): November 6, 2019<br>Award Amount: The duration and size of the award varies by project type; please see below.</strong></p><p>	The Advancing Informal STEM Learning (AISL) program seeks to advance new approaches to and evidence-based understanding of the design and development of STEM learning opportunities for the public in informal environments; provide multiple pathways for broadening access to and engagement in STEM learning experiences; advance innovative research on and assessment of STEM learning in informal environments; and engage the public of all ages in learning STEM in informal environments. The AISL program supports six types of projects:</p><ol>	<li>		Pilots and Feasibility Studies: up to $300,000 over up to two years	</li>	<li>		Research in Service to Practice: $300,000 to $2M over two to five years	</li>	<li>		Innovations in Development: $500,000 to $3M over two to five years	</li>	<li>		Broad Implementation: $1M to $3M over three to five years	</li>	<li>		Literature Reviews, Syntheses, or Meta-Analyses: up to $250,000 over up to two years	</li>	<li>		Conferences: up to $250,000 over up to two years	</li></ol><p>	Harvard University, as a single institution, is limited to submitting three (3) proposals to this opportunity. The Office of the Vice Provost for Research will administer the internal competition to select the Harvard nominees. To be considered for the Harvard nomination, potential applicants must submit an internal pre-proposal via the link above. Harvard may appear as a subawardee on proposals submitted by others.
