#  ETHAN GARNER RECEIVES NIH NEW INNOVATOR AWARD

Ethan Garner, an assistant professor in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, is a recipient of the [2014 National Institute of Health (NIH) Director’s New Innovator Award](http://commonfund.nih.gov/newinnovator/fundedresearch). Established in 2007, the New Innovator Award Initiative supports exceptionally creative early career investigators pursing pioneering, potentially high-impact research ideas in biomedical and behavioral science. The NIH awards recipients up to $300,000 annually over five years and covers indirect research costs as well.
